This week is going to be all about relaxing. For this week and next, I’m only getting three days off instead of my usual four, so I can get off of working the weekends. It sounds like a lot of time off, but I work about 40 hours in a three day time period, so it’s very necessary to get my four days. I’ve been sleeping almost constantly, so I haven’t been very productive. I probably won’t stream or make YouTube videos until my schedule goes back to normal. So the following is what a nerd does to relax.
What I’m Watching
For my days off, I plan on catching up with Game of Thrones and Vikings. I need to watch episode 5 of Game of Thrones and the season finale of Vikings tonight. Vikings is such a great show and I really hate that the season is so short. The History Channel could do so much more with it. Watching Vikings always makes me want to play Skyrim, but I know better than to get sucked into Skyrim right now with all the other games I have to play. I also am forcing myself to stop being a shut-in and going out to see Amazing Spider-man 2 tomorrow night. My local theater only has two showings for it that aren’t in 3D and they’re both very early. I hate 3D movies. I think they look blurry and grainy with the glasses on. I also just don’t see the appeal. I guess I’m just old and set in my ways.
What I’m Reading
This week will be spent reading X-Men: Days of Future Past. I ordered it from Amazon last week and have yet to crack it open. I definitely want to read it before the movie comes out. Also on my to do list is to read the Batgirl Annual that came out last Wednesday. I actually went to my closest comic book store on Wednesday because I wanted a physical copy of Amazing Spider-Man #1, Batgirl, and some other things. I showed up a minute after the store closed! There are two comic book stores right across the street from each other 30 minutes away from where I live, and they both close at 7. It’s completely ridiculous. The first one I went to is only open a couple hours a day. That’s the last time I’m going to bother visiting comic book stores near where I live. I’ll just have to keep ordering things from eBay.
What I’m Playing
My name is Amy and I’m a Diablo 3 addict. I seriously need a 12 step group. I keep trying to make an effort to play other games, but I just can’t. I have been wanting to play through a “top 100” list or something like that so I can be a more well rounded player, but I keep going back to Blizzard games. If it’s not Diablo, it’s WoW. Even right this moment I’m thinking about running a Nephilim Rift when I should be thinking about expanding my knowledge of other games. Maybe I should just do the unthinkable and uninstall it from both my computers. It’s just insane thinking about all the things I could have accomplished had it not been for this game!
Articles I’ve Written in the Past Week:
I also wrote a couple articles for Real Otaku Gamer this week. I did a review of my digital copy of Amazing Spider-man #1. Since it’s the start of a new month, I always like to list out the games we have to look forward to. I also like to do a “free games” article, but at the time I was writing, I couldn’t find anything definitive about what the free Xbox360 games were going to be for May, so I left it out. I also did a news piece for Golden Week, which I talked about in my last blog. I believe the sale already ended a little while ago. It’s okay, because PSN is having a flash sale right now with a bunch of games $4.99. Red Dead Redemption is one I’m thinking about buying.
