I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve blogged. Probably the longest I’ve gone without writing anything. I recently became a staff editor at Real Otaku Gamer, so I’m really on my way to becoming a video game/geek journalist. Don’t let the word Otaku scare you away – the website is a little bit of everything, not just Japanese culture. There are game reviews, news, comic book reviews – pretty much as wide a range as IGN has. The website is growing, so stop on by and check it out!

Gaming-wise, I’ve been playing Diablo 3 because the new expansion is coming out March 25. From now until then, you can get a 50% XP bonus. I’ve been taking advantage of that because I really want to level up each class. My favorite is the Wizard, followed by the Demon Hunter. Diablo 3 recently patched and I may do a full article on the changes later tonight. The most notable changes are the difficulty settings and the loot. In the first 15 minutes I played, I pretty much got a full new set of armor that was way more appropriate for my Wizard than before. Unfortunately, I’m having some issues with how the game is running, so I haven’t been able to really marathon the game the way I’d like.
I also got back into Hearthstone. For some reason I was really excited when it was first announced, and then when I got into the closed beta, I kind of lost some of that excitement. Recently I’ve been watching people stream it on Twitch, most notably Melonie Mac and Hafu. I decided to give the game another go. I haven’t been playing against real people because I still need some practice, but right now my goal is unlocking all the cards from my favorite classes. So far I unlocked all the mage and hunter cards. Next will be maybe priest and warrior. I’ve really enjoyed playing as a hunter so far.

Next weekend I’m really excited to be going to Lexington Toy and Comic Con. It’s the first convention I’ve ever gone to. They have a lot of awesome guests, including my first crush Jason David Frank (the Green Ranger). I hope I don’t act like an idiot. I’m also excited to meet George Takei and William Shatner. There’s a dozen other awesome guests but I will write about it all after the convention is over.
I’ve been really cheap for the past few weeks because of my Lexington trip, so I’ve really debated over buying the new South Park game. I’ve been so pumped about it for so long and I’ve watched some gameplay of it and liked what I saw. Maybe after Lexington I’ll buy it. It’s just too bad there’s too many awesome games out this month. Does anyone think South Park is worth the $60?
That’s pretty much all that’s going on. I forgot to do an unboxing article on February’s Loot Crate, but to be honest, I didn’t know about anything that was in it. February’s theme was CatBug and I’ve never watched it before. I’m just going to skip February if it’s alright with everyone. March’s Loot Crate is going to based on Attack on Titan, which I’ve watched. I’ll be back with an unboxing then. I’m also super behind on comics. I’m going to try to widen the range of what I read so it’s not all Avengers and X-Men. I’ll eventually come up with a good pull list and when I do, I’ll post it here.
That’s about it for this update. If you have any questions or suggestions, just let me know!
