I was so excited about this month’s LootCrate because it came right before I left the house for work. The first time I opened it was actually in the car on the way to work, but I put everything back in the box very carefully so I could take pictures later. It definitely put me in a much better mood for the rest of the day/night, whatever. December’s theme was Console Wars, in honor of the new releases of the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. I hate it when people argue over which console is better. I personally have a Xbox One and mostly play on PC. I would love to have a PS4, but I just can’t afford it now. Maybe someday. I hope this Loot Crate inspires people to stop hating on consoles they don’t have or want. Anyway, on to the items!
1. Console Wars shirt from Shirt Woot! I always love a Loot Crate with a shirt and when you subscribe, you’re pretty much guaranteed a shirt every other month. This shirt is so cute and comfortable, I’ve already worn it and washed it twice since I got the box delivered. My favorite part of the shirt is where you can see the little Mii’s inside the ship. This Loot Crate also included a coupon for shirts on Shirt Woot, which is one of those sites that has a different t shirt for sale every day. Sorry I don’t have a picture of myself wearing the shirt, but I guess every time I’ve had it on, I just happen to look pretty disheveled.
2. Grip It Analog Stick Protectors. These are awesome, because the worst thing about having an Xbox controller for any length of time is when the “nubs” wear off your thumb sticks. Grip It was generous enough to supply two sets of thumb grips so you have enough for two controllers. I’m basically a loser who still uses a controller with PC games, so these will definitely go on my wired Xbox 360 controller.
3. Tin-Tastic Creative Activity Set by Funko. I didn’t even know Funko made these, especially in so many different characters. I got the Joker, but other characters available were Derpy and Rainbow Dash from My Little Pony, Iron Man, and Iron Patriot. These things are so cool and I can’t wait to start a collection of them. Basically, it’s a super cute tin that has stickers, two pencils, and two big character erasers based on whatever character was on the outside. Since my character was Joker, I got a bunch of retro Joker stickers and pencils, and a Batman and Joker eraser. I really want the My Little Pony ones too!
4. Energems. These are chocolate mint flavored candies with caffeine in them to help you stay up all night to marathon games on your console of choice. They taste a lot like chocolate mint M&Ms, but they’re bigger. There are nine candies per box which is supposed to be the equivalent of 3 cups of coffee. I’ve only tried two of them on separate occasions, but maybe I’ll eat the rest this morning and see what happens.
Other honorable mentions are the Geek and Gamer bracelet, courtesy of Loot Crate. One side says Geek and the other side says Gamer, so you can show off however you happen to be feeling at that time. I also got a magnet that says “Legends Never Die” that has a picture of cute consoles holding hands. This will definitely be going on my fridge. And no Loot Crate would be complete without a sticker, especially one with Catbug on it as Han Solo.
I was really impressed with this month’s Loot Crate and thought they really outdid themselves. I give this box an A+ for having both a shirt and a Funko product. Bonus points go for candy with caffeine in it. If you’re on the fence about subscribing to Loot Crate, don’t worry. It’s $20 a month after shipping and Loot Crate posts discount codes on their Facebook page all the time. If you’re still not sure, just check out all the unboxings on YouTube. Just do a search for “Loot Crate Unboxing” and you will see plenty of subscribers happy with their boxes. I just can’t wait to find out what January’s theme is!
