I got my November Loot Crate last week and I’m a little late with unboxing it, but here it is! This month’s theme was “Celebrate” in honor of the release of the Xbox One and Playstation 4, as well as the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who.
Speaking of Doctor Who, two of the items in my Loot Crate are the Tardis balloon and this reusable sticker that turns anything into your own Tardis. I might just put this on my closet door, because the door is blue (although the wrong shade of blue) and my closet is way bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside.
To help get the party started, I also got a “first person shooter” shot glass. I’m guessing this is in honor of the release of Call of Duty: Ghosts which came out in November. I have enough shot glasses as is, but this is definitely going to be the best one I own now.
The next item in the box is a Batman Mighty Wallet. Mighty Wallets are really cool custom made wallets that are made out of Tyvek, a really sturdy almost indestructible paper-type material that the post office uses for shipping. If you go to the website, you can get virtually anything you want printed on your wallet. You can even use your Instagram photos to make a wallet. They cost $9.99 if you use one of the their designs, which there are tons to choose from and $25 to use your own image.
This is the big ticket item in this month’s Loot Crate. It’s a South Park themed Beatz Buddiez, which is a portable speaker you can use in for your phone, tablet, or whatever else. You plug one end to your device and you’re done. There’s a USB end to the cord so you can charge it. I haven’t been able to try it yet because you have to charge it up before you use it. You can see it a little in the first picture, but at the bottom of the packaging is this really sturdy black plastic piece. It works as the perfect stand if you think you need it. It also comes with a strap so you can hang it from a keychain. All the cords are removable, so you don’t have to worry about that. Plus, when you’re not using it, you can put on your Christmas tree. That’s what I plan to do!
Here’s everything from the Loot Crate. I didn’t mention the “Celebrate” mini-mag. I love the 8-bit cover design. It’s an item that’s been in the past few Loot Crates that kind of help guide you through what you got and how you can learn more about the items. There was a breakfast shake called “B-Fast” that was in the crate too. It’s currently in my refrigerator, so I don’t have the real item in the pic, just a postcard of it. The flavor I got was berry, which I’m not sure what kind of berry. I’ll have to do some more research on it, since if it has blueberry in it, I can’t have it. That’s the second month in a row I’ve had a blueberry food product. Come on, LootCrate! I’ve also got Kenny in his plastic packaging trash stand. You’re probably supposed to throw it away, but it keeps Kenny from getting knocked over, especially if I’m doing shots with my new shot glass. I also didn’t mention the pack of cards that’s in the middle of the picture. I got the Red Dragon themed pack. I don’t play cards very often, but I didn’t have a pack before and now I do!
This was a pretty good Loot Crate and I give the theme an A+. This is basically everything I need to have a party that will entertain nerds and all it cost was $20 including shipping. I hope in the future Loot Crate does more practical boxes like this one. Loot Crate is the only subscription box that I get right now. I’ve done a lot of research on other subscription box services, but I think this is the best one. There’s another similar subscription box company called Nerd Block. They’re a little more expensive. I’ve been following what items they put in their boxes for the past few months, and it’s not as good as Loot Crate.
If you’re interested in Loot Crate you can subscribe here. If you type in “Loot Crate Unboxing” in YouTube, you’ll see all kinds of videos of people demonstrating what they got. I’m too shy right now to make videos, but I’m working on it. Baby Steps. Anyway, if you don’t subscribe to Loot Crate and you want to, find any popular YouTuber who makes unboxing videos and they usually will put a discount code in the video description. Following Loot Crate on Facebook will get you discount codes daily.
