I was so happy this week that a new issue of The Star Wars came out. This series, published by Dark Horse, is kind of a “what if” George Lucas used his first draft of Star Wars and made it into a comic. It’s really fun to catch the differences and similarities between Lucas’s original vision of Star Wars and what actually was released in theaters.
My favorite thing about this issue is that they gave “Artwo Detwo” a voice, and he has conversations with everyone like it’s no big deal. We also get to meet a “Knight of the Sith” named Prince Valorum who starts working with General Vader to assassinate Luke Skywalker (remember, he’s the General of the Aquilaen military). And of course, we get to see a light saber battle in the end. It just kills me how they say “May the force of others be with you,” instead of “May the force be with you.” Han Solo was briefly mentioned by Luke Skywalker in this issue, so I’m hoping he’ll be in the next one.
