Tonight is the midnight release of Battlefield 4, Assassin’s Creed 4, and WWE. We pre-ordered Battlefield 4 at the GameStop down the street. It’s really convenient living near a GameStop because we went in at 10 pm to pre-ring, and now I’m back home just waiting for midnight. We’re in group 2, so it shouldn’t be long of a wait. Why bother sitting in the store waiting for two hours when I can wait at home.
Now that my boyfriend will be occupied by Battlefield 4 for the next few days, I can focus on this blog until I go back to work Thursday night. I’ve had a lot of articles planned for awhile, but I’ve just been putting them off. Fangasm ended recently, and instead of a Jersey Shore-worthy ending, it ended more like summer camp for nerds. So, I’ll be writing about that soon, as well as maybe a few more shows I’ve been keeping up with. I’m also planning on doing some research on some new things that NVIDIA is doing, including the GeForce Experience patch that is supposed to let you stream to Twitch.
Last week, I got into the third wave of Hearthstone beta invites and I’ve really been enjoying it. I think it’s pretty challenging though and I’m worse at Hearthstone than I am at Magic. I’m actually pretty decent at MTG, though. BlizzCon is coming up in a week or so, and I’ll be keeping a watch out for any news about a release date for Hearthstone.
I’ve also been doing something new with new comic releases. I figure I have pretty good general knowledge about a lot of big name comic book titles, but at the same time, I’ve gotten really behind in reading. I thought about waiting until major story lines come out in trade paperback, but I can’t do that! So, what I’ve decided is to just start reading the comics that are currently out each week, whether I’m caught up in the series or not. I’ll do a whole blog post about my little experiment. So far, I’ve read Superman 24, Flash 24, Red Lantern 24, Teen Titans 24, and Justice League 24. As far as those five series go, I have never read anything at all until issue 24 and I still felt like I knew what was happening. Anyway, more on that later.
And finally, I’ve changed the layout of the blog to look a little more…bloggy? I think the layout I had before kind of mimicked big name gaming websites, but I wanted a little more of a personal touch for blog theme. I think my old layout was holding me back from writing more personal updates like this because I felt like I could only write news, previews, and reviews. I’ve also been thinking about getting my own domain, since this is just a free WordPress.com blog and I’d like to do a little more customization to it. I was thinking about R2D2cupcake.com just to stay consistent, but since Disney owns Star Wars now, I’m afraid I’ll get a cease and desist for using a Star Wars character in my domain name.
Well, that’s all I’ve got for now. I’ll definitely be keeping up with the blog more this week.
